Trash Prayer (Bright Year: Day 17)
Dear God, please make the people who throw trash in my yard stop. They are many, and this year is the worst yet. I’m weary of picking up their menagerie of little sins. Of course, You know all about these offenses. You are the One who suffers billions of acts of petty rebellion each day. Somehow you manage to pick up all our bags and bottles, socks and needles. Somehow you manage to craft them into something beautiful. So teach me again to love, Creator God. And forgive me for all of the garbage that blew away from my yard last winter, showing up on someone else’s yard when the snow melted.
